View the online certificate demonstrating that Swing complies with the digital accessibility guidelines.

When developing Swing, ABF Research ensures that it meets the accessibility requirements as described on DigiToegankelijk.nl. This enables Swing administrators to create accessible information systems in accordance with the web guidelines. If, despite these efforts, something is missing or not functioning properly in terms of accessibility, please contact the Swing helpdesk so that we can further improve our software.

For the content entered by administrators within Swing, administrators themselves are responsible for ensuring compliance with the web accessibility guidelines. This includes aspects such as correct use of colors (sufficient contrast), readable fonts, and accessible PDF documents. ABF Research can assist in making your Swing website accessible. Please contact the Swing helpdesk for support.

Supported Browsers

We recommend using one of the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Edge (version 12 and higher)
  • Mozilla Firefox (version 3.5 and higher)
  • Google Chrome (version 30 and higher)
  • Safari (version 16 and higher)

The Swing Viewer application, due to the complexity of the interface, is not suitable for use on mobile devices and screens smaller than 1024 by 786 pixels.

Keyboard Support

Swing supports the same keyboard mechanisms as the browser, with the following additions:

  • CTRL+ALT+S: sets focus on skip links. This allows focus to be placed on one of the sections of the web application.
  • CTRL+UP and CTRL+DOWN: navigate between the different sections of the web application. In Swing Mosaic and Stories, this only works within the navigation of the selection dialog.

Specific to Swing Viewer, the following keyboard mechanisms also apply:

  • CTRL+ALT+E: open edit menu.
  • CTRL+ALT+T: set focus on the link that opens a presentation in a new window as a table.
  • CTRL+ALT+M: open a contextual menu (if available) for the element currently in focus.

Additional Functionality

The table presentation is optimized for speed with large amounts of data and is therefore not accessible to screen readers. Using the button below (“Show accessible table data”), it is possible to display the current presentation as a complete table.

For Swing Viewer, if the color contrast of a presentation is insufficient for the user, the button below (“Formatting settings”) or the colored items in the legend can be clicked to select an alternative color scheme.
